Frequently asked questions (FAQ)

The most common questions about research peptides, how to store and prepare them, and ordering from PeptXBio. All information is provided for an educational and scientific (in vitro) context.

Are these products intended for human use?

No. All PeptXBio products are intended solely for in vitro scientific research – in a laboratory setting. They are not medicines, dietary supplements or cosmetics and may not be used on humans or animals, or for diagnosis or treatment.

Who can buy research peptides?

The products are intended for qualified researchers, laboratories and scientific institutions. By placing an order, you confirm that you will use the materials only for lawful laboratory research purposes.

In what form are the peptides supplied?

Most peptides are supplied as a lyophilised (freeze-dried) powder in vials. Before research they are prepared as a solution, i.e. reconstituted. Read more in the knowledge-base article “What are peptides and how are they studied in the laboratory”.

How should peptides be stored?

Lyophilised peptides are best kept tightly sealed and protected from light and moisture: unopened vials in a refrigerator (2–8 °C), and in a freezer (−20 °C) for longer storage. Frequent warming and cooling cycles are avoided. More details in the article “How to store and reconstitute lyophilised peptides for research”.

How do I prepare (reconstitute) a peptide for research?

A lyophilised peptide is usually reconstituted with bacteriostatic water: the solvent is added slowly down the side of the vial (not directly onto the powder), and the vial is swirled gently, avoiding vigorous shaking. The exact solvent and volume depend on the specific compound and the research protocol.

Do I need bacteriostatic water?

Yes – a solvent is needed to prepare lyophilised peptides. We do not currently sell bacteriostatic water, so it needs to be purchased separately.

How much does delivery cost and how does it work?

We deliver throughout Lithuania: to an Omniva or Venipak parcel locker – €12, by courier to your address – €20. To other European Union countries we ship by courier – €20. You choose the delivery method at checkout.

What payment methods are available?

You will see the available payment methods at checkout. For more on paying with cryptocurrency, see our detailed guide.

Can I return a product?

The return conditions are described on the returns policy page. Please note that laboratory materials may be subject to specific return conditions because of their nature.

How is product quality assessed?

The reliability of research results depends on the quality of the material and proper handling, which is why laboratories use analytical methods to assess a material’s composition. Read about one of them in the article “What HPLC analysis means in peptide research”.
